Oculus Announces ESRI Development Partner Status
Washington, DC - December 7, 2005 Oculus Info Inc. today announces joining the ESRI Business Partner Program under the Developer Program. In doing so, Oculus plans to engage in a closer technical and business relationship with ESRI. Oculus believes its' information visualization technology and ESRI's GIS Technology are very complimentary.
"Oculus' GeoTimeT is a natural first point of collaboration for us", says Tom Kapler, Partner with Oculus. "This is a unique, patent-pending capability that allows analysts to detect and understand patterns more quickly than with traditional analysis tools. With the GeoTime extension for ESRI's ArcMap9, analysts are able to work with ArcView and query their data on ArcSDE. When appropriate, analysts can use GeoTime to gain geo-temporal insights about their data. Specific panels and controls in ArcMap allow event and map data to be exchanged with GeoTime. Linked selection of events in GeoTime and ArcMap is also provided. The GeoTime extension is already deployed with several DOD customers."
Applications for the product include intelligence analysis, law enforcement, GPS and location based services, RFID supply chain management, fraud networks, asset control, controlled substances tracking and epidemiology. "GeoTime is one opportunity for collaboration with ESRI", says Bill Wright, Senior Partner at Oculus, "but we also see a number of other business and technology development opportunities of benefit to our mutual customers." Adds Steve Maddison, ESRI Business Partner Manager, "We see a growing number of opportunities for OCULUS's GeoTime extension and look forward to working with Oculus."
